CHRISTINA RICCI APOLOGIZES FOR "OFFENSIVE ACTIONS."

Christina Ricci has finally realized that wearing baby reindeer on your back just ain't right. The actress has been under fire since posing for the cover of W Magazine wrapped reindeer fur (gah!) and it even earned her a spot on PETA's 2006 worst dressed list. Then some kid who ran one of her fan sites for almost 8 years was so bothered by Christina mixing it up with Rudolph that he dropped his support of the actress and closed her site down. After all the harsh criticism and maybe even realizing that December is probably the worst time to wear slaughtered reindeer, Ricci wrote the following letter to PETA:
"After being named on the PETA worst dressed list for wearing fur on the cover of W magazine, I have been deluged with angry and disappointed fans. "I never meant to hurt nor anger anyone with my insensitivity. For what it is worth I have received the message loud and clear and will not be wearing fur in the future. I apologize for my offensive actions."
I give big props to Ricci for having the brains and respect to apologize for a stupid move (albeit I'm sure it was not an outfit she picked out herself; maybe W should have apologized for having her wear the reindeer). No word yet on if Nicole Richie, Ashley Olsen or Eva Longoria, who are the other celebrities that made PETA's worst dressed list, have apologized like Ricci for wearing fur.

You gotta feel for her. You know it wasn't her idea to wear fur in the shoot. Classy if her to apologize though.

Oh shut up! You and freaking PETA have such bleeding hearts for animals what about the people that are suffering around the world. Are you going to ask anyone to apologize for that? Learn what's important! Take care of the people that take care of animals and not the other way around. Idiots!

Oh, I agree 12:49, but that's America for ya. If finding a cure for cancer means testing medications on animals, I'm all for it. But you know how these liberals are. Animals have feelings too...BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!

BTW---There was a story in my local paper about a 23 year old mentally retarded girl who has been abused by her mother. She was found lying in her own urine and fecies weighing only 33lbs. They city is charging the mom with 2nd degree abuse of an adult which carries a sentence of max 3 years in prison. BUT if you are found guilty of 2nd degree abuse on an animal, it carries a max penalty of 6 years in prison. You tell me where the justice is??? Write your congressman.

No type of human suffering is acceptable, especially when it's against a disabled person.

But to imply that animals "don't have feelings," just because Peta sometimes does more harm than good, is definitely misguided. Animals have feelings, fear, affection, attachment to their mates... and us, their loving owners. A basic surf across the net has a lot of research on this.

Decent treatment of animals is just an important priority for many of us. Even if medical research or the food chain is necessary, there are ways to make life easier for animals. We just don't care enough to demand change.

I'm glad Cristina Ricci spoke out after a basic fashion shoot. That's the worst type of animal slaughter, because it's not even feeding people (such as hunting or fishing). Good for her.

I agree that there is obviously a large problem with the way that the justice system works regarding child abuse versus animal abuse. But I think that you should undestand that PETA isn't trying to say that animal abuse/ wearing fur is more or less important than other issues, rather they are simply trying to say that it is an issue. I also think that you are pushing an incredibly ignorant image by referring to it as "how liberals are". You should probably try to research this and see that, in fact, this is a common thread of worry in all political parties.
I think that if the meat is already being used, it is best to use all of the parts of the body- ie leather and bones. But I don't see a purpose in killing the animal specifically so that rich Hollywood can waste thousands of dollars to wear their fur as a fashion statement.
If you want to also ignorantly spout about how "people that are suffering around the world", keep in mind that the thousands of dollars used to buy such furs could be used in a different fashion- to aid those starving and suffering people.

PETA makes me sick!
If you check out their site it is nothing more than a front group for the gay mafia!
Longer sentences for "animal abuse" than for inhumane treatment of the mentally retarded is just another example of "liberal logic".

I say -

ANIMALS - IT'S WHAT'S FOR DINNER!

LIBERALISM IS A MENTAL DISORDER

PETA needs to clean up their own act before telling others to clean up theirs.

One member is a type 2 diabetic, whose meds are created through animal hormones (just as bad or worse than wearing fur), they openly support violence against labs/people. They also euthanise animals regularly (those they decree unadoptable).

Now they should apologize to her for their attack on her appearance. She can control whether or not she wears fur, but she can't control the size of her forehead and they should be ashamed of themselves.

i just read on yahoo that animals have dreams. anyway, i really could care less if celebrities wore fur. i think people IN GENERAL should be aware, but i don't think celebs shouldn't have to just cuz they're in the spotlight. i personally don't feel it influences people to buy fur, but whateva.

Every serial killer in history has started with killing animals...you figure it out. And most "liberals" who care about animals being treated humanely also care about people being treated humanely. I'm quite sure all you people who don't give a shit about an animal haven't done a f*cking thing to help child abuse, diabled people abuse or whatever other kind of abuse you can come up with. You crass, heartless, look-out-for-me only assholes are the problem with this world. Get off your high horses and do something for someone else for once in your miserable loveless lives.

Miss Ricci, I didn't know you were intending to do this with Rudolph and the rest of my gang. I am crushed and now I have to rent a Harley Davidson Hog for Christmas Eve. Do you have any idea how long this will take me now? Those 12 little guys were my most valuable asset.Don't expect to find nothing under your tree tonight. Thanks A Lot.

I dont know anything about Peta or Christina Ricci or reindeers...but I have seen the videos on youtube titled "fur farm china" and that is the most depressing horrific scene I can imagine..They skin the animals while they are still alive and screaming and pull the skin all the way off the body and then the animal looks at the camera before it dies with nothing but its eyelashes on. They probably make harsher laws for animal abuse because it is alot more common then a retarded girl being abused....All life should be respected, if you eat meat, then eat meat..but theres no reason why animals should be tortured like that. They obviously feel the same pain that retarded girl would feel. There are some really sick insensitive people in this world.
