REGIS PHILBIN TO HAVE OPEN HEART SURGERY.

Awww Reeeeggg! Best of luck to Regis Philbin, who announced today on his television show Regis & Kelly, that he has to undergo heart bypass surgery this week. On Monday's show, he told viewers he was starting to experience symptoms. "Well, listen, I gotta tell you something...I had been feeling chest pains, you know, and, uh, shortness of breath and all those little symptoms that you hear about." That is when he went to the doctor and it was discovered he needed the bypass. Philbin says he was hoping to have the less invasive angioplasty procedure (something he underwent 14 years ago), but docs told him it was a no-go and recommended the bypass. "There's some plaque in some arteries and I got to get it cleaned out," Philbin said. He is expected to be away from Regis & Kelly for around 5 weeks, while he recuperates.
