LOHAN LEAVES REHAB TO ATTEND AA MEETING. GETS MOBBED BY PAPARAZZI.

Ugh. This has been all over the entertainment shows tonight and it's so incredibly annoying. Lindsay Lohan left rehab over the weekend to attend an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting and of course, was mobbed by the paparazzi when she left the meeting. The rehab place where she is staying reportedly allows patients to attend outside meetings, but my question is, now that she is in rehab and hopefully getting the help she desperately needs, not to mention finally being able to find some quiet moments where she can sort out her messed up life, why the hell would she want to leave to go attend an outside meeting? Oh...wait, that's right...there are no paparazzi inside rehab and dare a week go by where Lohan doesn't have chaos surrounding her that will lead to her picture plastered all over the tabloids!

Whatever. I've said it before, the thing that pisses me off so much about this is that Lohan knows the paparazzi are not going to change. As you can see from the disgusting video, now that Lohan is in rehab, they are going to hound her more than ever if she walks out of those rehab doors and she knows that. Aside from Lohan, there are also "normal folk" attending these AA meetings and trying to get help for their addictions. They didn't ask to have her freakin' chaos disrupt their lives, let alone, have their privacy invaded by the photographers that hound her when she attends these meetings. Unfortunately, I bet the majority of the people at these meetings do not have the luxury to be able to check into a fancy ass rehab center that costs thousands of dollars a night like Lohan does, and the AA meetings could be all they've got. No matter what she believes from all the tabloid coverage, Lohan needs to learn that the world does not revolve around her circus life and not everyone wants to join in on her reindeer games. Yuck.

How DARE she knowingly "out" other members...she KNOWS the press will be there and she also KNOWS that the anonimity is key for others in recovery...She is jepordizing the recovery of others for her own selfish attention wh*re ways. There are a lot of people who can't afford Wonderland and AA is the only thing standing between them and death and now they have to fear going to a meeting because of this circus act.

TB, if you hate it so much why are you putting a video of it up? You're just promoting the paps to keep doing what they're doing. If there is no demand for it, they will stop. But the tabloids and news have to stop showing these things in order to do that. I don't necessarily like the girl either, but everyone constantly critiques her for her problems and then this makes it nearly impossible for her to get better.

And also, she has made a committment to AA- she is allowed to leave and attend those meetings to fulfill that. The center obviously understands that they do not offer every treatment option, and allow their patients to have a variety of different resources. I hardly think that she is doing this for attention.
I usually love reading your website but I'm highly disappointed by your reaction to this. Again, I don't necessarily like the girl, but when you take a girl at that age and put her in the spotlight and give her money... it seems that she already had the genetic predisposition for such a case and she's finally stepping up to get help. I would think that as a human being, not a tabloid write, you would be compassionate to that point.

anonymous-
I've been reading this site for awhile now. TB may not have as much stuff as other websites but I love her angle and think she's a funny writer. But I hated that she put up a clip about LL and then complained about how much attention she's getting. Doesn't that seem ironic? If she hates that LL is getting attention, don't give it to her. Also, we don't understand what Lindsey is going through. Being that age and being put in the spotlight and being able to party and drink- it was all set up for her to fall like this. And now she is trying to get help.
So don't get sassy with me and tell me to "leave" and to "close the door". I am simply making a point.

Hi cait- Just wanted to throw something in here and then be done with it...you should re-read the post. It was not focused on how I hated how much attention lohan gets, it was focused on the fact that Lohan DOES get attention and even though she is aware of it, she does not have the courtesy to respect other people and their right to privacy at AA meetings. Instead, she chooses to bring the chaos she knows comes along with her to these meetings when she could be getting same treatment in the privacy rehab. You can't tell me this high end rehab place doesn't have counselors or sessions for alcohol or narcotic addiction like AA and NA does...she doesn't NEED to leave there to go to those meetings.

Aside from that, thanks for reading the site and your opinions. Also, just wondering..what's up with the TB thing?

TW- I accidently typed TB instead of TW.
As for your comments back- I've read the post three times just to be sure of your meaning. From my understanding (I work with kids whose parents are in AA), once you make a committment to AA you are supposed to uphold it. I mean, you are allowed to leave and stuff, but if people find that AA works for them, they will attend the meetings on a regular basis. Most rehab centers work with AA for a combination of different methods of healing. I honestly do not think that she is trying to leave rehab to GET attention, rather that attention follows her no matter what. I think every celebrity hopes for a good amount of privacy, especially at times like this. I would like to hope that she attends these meetings to get better- she has every right as a person to attend the meetings. Tons of other celebrities go to AA meetings, and also have attention following them when they do so. But it is not on her fault if she is trying to get better and the Paps don't back down and let her have that privacy.

Anyone who thinks she doesn't go out for attention should pull their head out of their butt. Read this:

First off, I never said she wasn't starving for attention. She may very well be. But what I'm saying is that there should be certain boundaries to where the paps interfere. When it borders on risking the health and safety of celebrities, it is too much. And the only way for that to stop is to not buy/use the photographs that are taken in those instances. If we are going to complain that she disvalues the privacy of all of the other AA members, we must realize that by posting/viewing the pictures we are encouraging the paps to follow her.
And for future reference, just because I take a different stance on the issue doesn't mean that I need to "pull my head out of my butt". Nice tact and intelligent argument though.
