ANGELINA JOLIE LOSES HER MOTHER.

After a long battle with ovarian cancer, Angelina Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand (56), has died. She reportedly had been fighting the cancer for several years and passed away Saturday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Daughter Angelina, son James Haven and Brad Pitt were by her side when she died. Very, very, sad. I'm sure this explains Angelina's very somber behavior at the Golden Globes a couple weeks ago which she was heavily criticized for by some media outlets.

Awww, bless her heart. That explains everything about her bizarre behavior over the past few weeks.

I am not a huge fan of the big A but I feel very bad for her, I know this must be devistating.

Angelina and her mother seemed to have a very strong bond.

I hope she is given some room and privacy to grieve what is without a doubt one of the most difficult times of her life.

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a little over a year ago- it is such a difficult struggle and I know that she was at a very late stage. I also am not a fan of Angelina, but I do feel for anyone that loses a family member, friend, or loved one to this disease.
I'm sure that quite a bit of money will be raised in her honor- I do appreciate that they chose to do that in lieu of flowers.

Angelina -- we are praying that you will find comfort in your time of grief.

Your mother's spirit definitely lives on despite the fact that she is no longer of this earth and she will find a way to let you know that --- I promise.

I lost my father almost 9 years ago and through some events that have happened since, I have total conviction that he is still around me.

Stay strong and find some peace and quiet.
Take a secret vacation somewhere if that is possible and just hide out for a while.

Cait, prayers and thoughts your way...stay strong and keep up the fight.

Angelina should take some time off and deal with her grief. Very sad time, always so close to her mother.

Looks wise, I just saw Jon Voight on a rerun of Gunsmoke. Soo much of daughter/father in the same face. He's older now and you can't see it, but check out the early shots. The chin and mouth, definitely the nose too. Her beautiful mom brought in the depth of her features. May she rest in peace.

Will this be her excuse for even weirder behaviour...has she not been estranged with her mothe forever.. it's guilt she's feeling now..the woman is too shallow to grieve for long and it's another way to get her in the papers...after all she's pulled she deserves everything she gets...what goes around comes around

When my mother was dying of cancer, I was at her side the entire time. People magazine showed a picture the day before Ms. Jolie's mother passed away where Angelina was in New Orleans with Brad, while he was working on a movie. If her Golden Globe behavior was because her mother was dying (and according to People her mother didn't pass away until around 10 days after the Globes), why was she thousands of miles away when the end was near even the day before her death? I have never bought Ms. Jolies behaviour, the UN work especially. She goes to these countries, yet stays in resorts for over $8,000 a night. This has and will always be about Ms. Jolie and her delusional mentality. She is an Academy Award winning actress who has the naive public fooled. She should have acted professionally and graciously at the Golden Globes despite what was going on in her personal life. For example, Reese Witherspoon is going through a very public, painful divorce. I didn't see her behave that way. The movie industry has made Ms. Jolie famous and rich. Her fans have dished out their hard money which also contributes to her lifestyle. Luckily, the People Magazine is a freebie that comes to our office. I will never see another movie or buy another mazagine that contributes to the wealth of these people and feeds their Histrionic Personality Disorders. The media needs to start paying attention to the real everyday heros.
