WILL MADONNA & GUY HAVE AN AFRICAN BABY NEXT MONTH?

I still don't believe this story 100%, but I heard it on Good Day L.A. this morning (and it was not a part of Tabloid Thursday), so I thought I'd throw it up here. Rumors have been around for a while, but reports are surfacing again that Madonna and cute hubby Guy Ritchie may adopt a child from an African orphanage next month. Oh how very Angelina of you Madonna! British paper 'The People' reports that a source close to the couple claims that that not only may Mr. & Mrs. Ritchie adopt a child, but they might end up bringing home twins or siblings in order not to break up a family. They even went as far to say that Madonna and Guy are "willing to consider a child with special needs arising from being abandoned in an orphanage." Ha. "willing," I love it.
The source adds that both Madonna's daughter Lourdes and son Rocco are "really excited" about the possibility of having a new sibling and from Africa no less! Wow, maybe dear Lourdes can teach the new baby French! A spokesperson for Madonna did not confirm or deny the story, only telling The People, "Madonna will go to Africa in the next six to eight weeks for her charity." According to reports a couple months back, Madonna and Guy are said to be building a school and home for kids in the African city of Malawi. Yeah, like I said, I don't know how much I believe the African adoption story ... the only thing missing from it is someone claiming Madonna called up Angelina Jolie for "advice." All joking aside, I do like Madonna & Guy and admire the way they appear to have raised their children. Any new child they bring into their home and make part of their family will be one lucky kid.

Good for them. I'm all for putting your millions to good use. Especially where kids are concerned!

I do agree with that comment. BUT the US has such liberal laws in respects to adoption. It's too easy for a birth mom to come back years after and want their child back. I would never adopt domestically. Plus, the process takes so long. Maybe they want a child now. Either way, they are opening their home to an unwanted child and really, that's all that matters.

the problem with this is many of these children abroad are wanted but families due to finances, war etc can't provide. although a rescued child is always a pleasant sight, it seems the wealthy is taking advantage of a situation that they could help in way that keeps a family intact...this all seems sort of faddish...like the in thing to do...like when paris hilton was known for carrying a small dog as a compliment to her outfit...then britney spears started doing it etc...you don't see them doing it as much anymore...maybe they bored of the trend...what's going to happen to all the liitle brown and yellow babies when hollywood bores of them?

Guy Ritchie is such a cool alpha male. Who else could go toe-to-toe with that broad?

d mumsie, I agree. I was thinking of how many schools in the US need supplies like paper, etc. and they don't have the money to buy it, yet these African "orphans" are hitting the jackpot. If they would help as much here as they do there, we'd be so much better off. Of course Madonna's children go to the very best schools so she is probably unaware of how desperate the situation is.

OMG..i can't beleive i just read that. Schools need paper? Children need homes and families!!!

Yes schools need paper. I don't disagree and yes something should be done but come on now.

you can't compare the two.

And good for any child who gets adopted. Why should they have to suffer. And good for any family who adopts a child. These are CHILDREN people. Not things. Let's keep our priorities straight.

I am glad she's doing that. I mean there are so many kids dying in Africa from sicknesses, child-labor abuse, amongst other things. Our [western] govts are too busy sending all our money to support a pointless war over in Iraq to bother about helping some lil babies in Africa, so why should madonna do it? go her!!

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, trapped in a seemingly endless cycle of hunger and disease.

Over 14 percent of the 12 million population are infected with HIV, an estimated 1 million children have been orphaned.
Televisions are nonexistent and radios are rare, meaning that most of the villagers have never even heard Madonna sing.

Madonna wants to set up a center for children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic.
Madonna has teamed up with developing-world economic expert Jeffrey Sachs on programs in Malawi, and she's met with former U.S. President Bill Clinton about bringing low-cost medicines to the country.

Madonna got already two children: Watch I m gonna tell you a Secret and you will see to happy healthy looking kids who love their Mum.

Madonna really made a difference where others bombing this world into pieces and let people die in the dirt in a Place called "The Forgotten Continent" - she s a HERO.
