Agh! Puke! I just noticed over on popbytes that Jessica Simpson's video for her new single "A Public Affair" is out and it is so lame! Just when I thought there couldn't be anything worse than her song, the video comes out and sucks even harder! I am embarrassed for all the ladies in this video (Christina Applegate girrrl, what happened to you?) and I don't even want to know what Jessica is trying to do with that ice cream cone. If that's the way girlfriend handles things with her mouth, it's no wonder she and Nick got divorced! This is sweet revenge in a way for Nick, because unlike what we saw the first season of Newlyweds, now he has the hot video out and Jessica's blows! Ack! This is the worst video. The song sucks, the video sucks. She is so unoriginal and lacks any form of creativity so she ripped off a Madonna song and then added a Mariah/Madonna video. the ice cream scene is a joke, she doesn't even know what she's doing. This proves she doesn't give a s**t about the music, that it's all about the money and the recognition. She's nothing more then a nice rack. Her face is very manly and she looks like a cross between a drag queen and blow up doll. I wish she would fade away!

I never comment on any blogs really...but I just had to say....I was dying when I saw this video. YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!! The phallic ice cream reference was so blatantly innappropriate. The beginning dialogue sounded like a cheesy 70's porn flick. The romp with the roller skate rental guy was just absurd!!!!! The video director should be shot.
I like the song but the video is awful. The ice cream cone scene is nasty but she obviously thought it was funny. Why is Christina Applegate in this video? I like her but I thought she had more class. Nick is better off without her.
Well look at her standing there, always trying to make pouty faces...like "look at me, im so cute"... it's so pathetic. I think she finally ruined her image with this one. Jesus Christ you posters are dim...the "ice cream" scene that you all are spouting over is shot within the context of a typical male objectification of women...if you noted, it is the "gentleman's" imagination scene in which she gobbles up the ice cream in a "Lolita" homage...akin to the Andy Dick "daydream" of two women who lean in for the "Britney/Madonna" homage. It's called SATIRE...and not a reflection of Jessica's religious identity nor her own conjecture of oral sex...but rather director Brett Ratner's ideas on female objectification. I really like the video and the song. It's a good party/dance song and it reminds me of the disco roller rinks during my days of high school (I'm showing my age here). I imagine it was a lot of fun to make. I would hope that people would see satire in this video. It's over the top. Jessica's ice cream scene, the girls fighting, Andy Dick's behavior, the setting and costumes, and the scene in the car with the girls "one upping" each other. Jessica Simpson's whole career has been one big reality/tabloid ride and this video is a mockery aimed at that. Remember, it's called "Public Affair." Yes, Nick's song is personal, deep, and moving. Jessica's response is to show no hurt. She laughs it off. She comes off shallow and hurtful. But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy this shallow little tune and its shallow video. P.S. I agree with the majority. When I first saw this video, I was embarassed for Jessica. The song sucks, but the video is HORRIBLE. I used to love Jess (back when she was with Nick), but now she just annoys me. Just another girl who got obsessed with being famous.
