MEL GIBSON CALLS POLICE SERGEANT "SUGAR TITS" DURING DRUNKEN ARREST TIRADE.

Oh dear. It looks like everything was not alright with Mel Gibson Friday when he was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Reports have come out that he said some very bad things in a drunken tirade when police pulled his car over on PCH and that the original police report had allegedly been doctored "to keep the real story underwraps." TMZ got their hands on the unedited Los Angeles County Sheriff's department report of the incident and below are some excerpts of Gibson's behavior. Plus, according to TMZ, the sheriff audiotaped the incident and it is said to fully coroborate everything in the report. To read more information on the incident, check out the complete story at TMZ.
  • Once inside the car, a source directly connected with the case says Gibson began banging himself against the seat. The report says Gibson told the deputy, "You mother f****r. I'm going to f*** you." The report also says "Gibson almost continually [sic] threatened me saying he 'owns Malibu' and will spend all of his money to 'get even' with me."
  • The report says Gibson then launched into a barrage of anti-Semitic statements: "F*****g Jews... The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world." Gibson then asked the deputy, "Are you a Jew?
  • The deputy became alarmed as Gibson's tirade escalated, and called ahead for a sergeant to meet them when they arrived at the station. When they arrived, a sergeant began videotaping Gibson, who noticed the camera and then said, "What the f*** do you think you're doing?" A law enforcement source says Gibson then noticed another female sergeant and yelled, "What do you think you're looking at, sugar tits?"

Mel Gibson released the following statement Saturday:

"After drinking alcohol on Thursday night, I did a number of things that were very wrong and for which I am ashamed. I drove a car when I should not have, and was stopped by the LA County Sheriffs. The arresting officer was just doing his job and I feel fortunate that I was apprehended before I caused injury to any other person. I acted like a person completely out of control when I was arrested, and said things that I do not believe to be true and which are despicable. I am deeply ashamed of everything I said. Also, I take this opportunity to apologize to the deputies involved for my belligerent behavior. They have always been there for me in my community and indeed probably saved me from myself. I disgraced myself and my family with my behavior and for that I am truly sorry. I have battled with the disease of alcoholism for all of my adult life and profoundly regret my horrific relapse. I apologize for any behavior unbecoming of me in my inebriated state and have already taken necessary steps to ensure my return to health."

I'll believe it when I hear it. I mean, with all the docco these guys supposedly have, we're supposed to make do with some tabloid's website report of a report, while everyone denies it? I call b.s. until I see something solid.

DNS: Did you not read Gibson's statement? He admitted to saying the things, he said, "I said things that I do not believe," meaning, he said them under the influence of alcohol and does not really feel that way. Kind of like when a man tells a woman he loves her when he is drunk. I would also think apolice report is pretty solid. No one, including mel, is denying anything.

Don't ya love it when the celebs always fall back on the 'having battled alcoholism" or drugs. He'll check into Promises, like the rest of them and get a slap on the wrist. While you and I would be sent to the pokey.

And don't even get me started on his really strange marriage- a wife in Australia and what ..28 kids? And he lives in Malibu? mmmm

You people are sounding really mean and biased to me!

I live in LA, and I can testify that Mel Gibson has been going to AA meetings and
working on his sobriety for over 20 years.

He relapsed and got caught. He acted like a total jerk. Check.

So, he's actually a human being and not perfect? Check.

So, he's practically a billionaire, but he's still not perfect? Check.

Money cannot cure alcoholism? Hmmm... there have never been any other
really rich, famous alcoholics like Elvis, Elizabeth Taylor, Kurt Cobain,
Tennessee Williams, Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton or John Lennon or
whomever? Gee, that's news.

So, Mel messed up in a horrible way by driving a car endangering the lives of others?
Check.

So, Mel said imbecilic things and mouthed off to the cops like any drunken hillbilly in Tennessee
or the slums of Calcutta would do under the influence of moonshine? Check.

Mr. Gibson should be held accountable for endangering the lives of others. He has stated quite
eloquently his horror and shame about what happened the other nite, and will take his punishment.
He apologized to the world, and did not waiver in accepting his responsibility for totally f**king up.

Whatever drivel came out of his mouth while he was under the influence of alcohol is irrelevant.
He was drunk.

Jewish people, women and cops can whine all they want, but if Mel Gibson was not famous,
it would have been just another Friday nite in LA when some guy had too much to drink and
was acting the fool. This would be no big deal. I disagree with those who say drunk people
are saying what they REALLY think when they are drunk. Some do, I am sure. It's been
my experience that many people act totally out of character when they are drunk. In fact,
I have seen people actually morph into another person entirely when they are drunk. It sounds
to me like Mel turns into his father when he drinks. His father is an outspoken racist and anti-Semite.

Mel Gibson would never, in a million years, have made it in Hollywood if he were really,
truly anti-Semitic. Get real! It would never have happened. Hollywood is run by Jewish men,
and that's a fact.

I wish Mel well and hope he can heal his soul. Jewish people and women who can't accept an
apology, and people who don't have money can hate him. I send all addicts and alcoholics
all the love I can give to heal yourselves too. It's hard to do, and so many people just don't understand.

Most people don't have a net worth of 850 million or so, and the pressure of providing jobs
and keeping the machine running that supports thousands of families' incomes, either.
You people are talking about something you know nothing about. Mel's movies have made
over 4 billion dollars. Every project he commits to is a HUGE responsibilty. That's bigtime
pressure, people. Don't judge til you've walked in those shoes.

Peace to you all.

Anonymous posting at 11:34, go fuck yourself. What a stupid little asswipe you are. Could you kiss Mel Gibson's ass any harder with your pathetic post that tries to explain away Gibson's reprehensible, hate-filled remarks with weak arguments like "don't judge till you've walked in his shoes!" and "Jewish people and women can whine all they want...." "Hollywood is run by Jewish men..." You are an idiot fucktard, and you seem to be harboring more than a bit of anti-semitism yourself based on your comments above. People who get drunk and spew stupid bullshit about "the Jews" don't just do it out of the blue. His moronic flap was loosened up from the booze and he started saying what he really thinks. I do think that his apology was eloquent, and he was right to come out with a mea culpa quickly. HOWEVER, that doesn't erase the hate that came out of his mouth that night nor does it mean that he doesn't really believe everything he said about women and Jewish people. I think Gibson exposed himself for the person he really is. And your attempts to explain it all away come off as some sad little person who is starstruck by the power wielded by the big guy in Hollywood, "but, but, look at all the pressure he's under! He has $850 million bucks in the bank that he has to take care of, he deserves our pity and understanding, not our disapproval!" Puhleaze. You'd make me laugh, if I wasn't already so frightened by the hate put forth by people like you and your hero, Gibson.

"Sugar Tits" is a disgusting label used to subordinate and objectify women. Thanks for bringing that detail to our attention, TW.

Being drunk does not cause you to say racist and sexist things. This episode merely revealed the true Mel Gibson which apparently is a nasty, ugly piece of shit loser.

I'm kind of glad he did this-- now no one will take him seriously ever again and his opinions will mean shit.

If you look a bit into Mr. Gibson's family you will find that his father is a very famous and outspoken anti-semite. So, that's the way he was raised i suppose and now after knocking a few back he spews his venim.

As far as not making it in Hollywood if he hated the Jews? PLEASE, i'm sure when he first started he wasn't mouthing off all over town. I'm sure it was after he got famous and the movie companies were making millions on him that they learned of his "hatred" but everyone in Hollywood will turn the other cheek to make a buck.

Mr. Gibson is also a very outspoken Catholic who built his own Church in Malibu because he "wasn't happy with the state of the Catholic Church" and wanted the Mass said in Latin. I'm sorry but someone who is "supposed" to be this religious getting bombed and spewing the crap he did, it discusts me and he's a hypocrite.

He's an embarassment.

"I think Gibson exposed himself for the person he really is." >>

This type of thinking is really scary. Alcohol brings out demons and creates horrific situations.

Meth, drink, all this stuff changes a person. Clearly, Mel is not a light drinker. He's an alcoholic and one dangerous slip was just witnessed by the entire world.

Sorry, I don't define a person by their actions under alcohol. I just know that the law holds them responsible for any consequences from drinking.

Mel's immediate response was eloquent and without accusation. I am behind him all the way, and wish anyone battling the bottle the same speedy road to recovery. (In this case being a celebrity has hurt more than helped.)

That's BS that alcohol brings out things you'd NEVER say! If anything, it works like a truth serum - it shuts off the internal censor that we're all supposed to have.

Now why in the hell would he start talking about Jews out of the blue like that? It's not like it was relevent to his situation at the moment. So that just goes to prove that it's something in his mind. And given the fact that he's had the anti-semite talk revolving around him for a long time. Wow, 2+2=4!

10:36 AM, July 31, 2006
Anonymous Anonymous said...

well, if you feel that's the conclusion you should pat him on the back for keeping his thoughts to himself for decades. I disagree with you that alcohol is a truth serum. I do agree with the internal censor being yanked off. Wear a lampshade on your head, people remember it. Mel is an alcoholic and apologized for his outburst. You know he'll follow it up with contributions and donations to try to make amends.

I will never live in a world that judges people on one drunken episode versus THE OUTPUT OF HIS LIFE. Had he killed or disabled someone this would have been a real tragedy.

After an apology, what next ??

After reading all the comments, the bad news is Mel G has certainly damaged his reputation. Whatever he is or is'nt or believes or doesn't believe, his actions are 1000 times multiplied be they good or bad, as a celebrity.
He will need a major PR move to get him into positive light again. I don't approve of what he said/did by any means, but honestly believe the guy has tried to do some very positive things with his work.....(but blew all that away with this incident.)

Good luck Mel, you're gonna need it.

Has any of you apologists actually seen Passion of the Christ? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, People. Mel Gibson is an anti-semite. And for the stereotypers among us, let's note a few things, shall we? "Jews" don't have hook noses; "Jews" don't eat Christian babies; and "Jews" don't run the media or Hollywood in this country. These canards have consistently been used to persecute & villify the Jewish people. So to invoke glibly these stereotypes betrays, at a minimum, an insensitivity & deep ignorance of history. Finally, the fact that Mel Gibson's spin doctors issued a well-crafted apology provides significantly less insight into the man than his own actions, either as a drunk on the street or as a director behind the camera. The man said despicable, unChristian things. It's mind boggling that people are willing to give him a free pass for spewing hate.

Yeah, I'm a little freaked out at the number of people ready to forgive the bigoted Hollywood star - as if he himself is the second coming. And the number of people that think all these wild things are allowed to pour out of person simply because they're drunk.

This is his third DUI - so I'm hoping for a little jail time.

And the fact that a person doesn't shout their bigoted beliefs from the rooftops doesn't mean that they haven't existed for a long time. People like him scare the crap outta me - as do his supporters.

11:54 AM, July 31, 2006

Well, don't be scared of people with opposing viewpoints. That's intolerance at its worst.

Mel is handling the situation and it's not a quick call to the spinmasters with a check in the mail. He's in deep, especially because our world is so divided right now.

I am open to other peoples' connections to religion as long as it isn't extremist with mandates to kill non-believers. Many religions and political philosophies I don't agree with. Doesn't mean I'm so intolerant that that a man's personal commitment to make something like 'Passion' goes completely over my head.

Other religious groups can and do express themselves and fully demand tolerance in their beliefs and feelings of expression. As a filmmaker and person, Mel Gibson deserves the same.

Third DUI? Okay, maybe he needs to address that problem, which is a serious one.

Dont you all remember the contraversy right before the release of Passion? how he and his family were extremely anit-simetic and he denied, denied, denied and said how he loved all races and religions and how tolerant he is.

Don't be blind and stupid people.

It is what it is.

One of the things alcohol does is allow your tongue and lips to become loose to say the things you would normally keep to yourself. He said those things and he feels those things and he meant those things when he said them. Dont blame the liquor. It only allowed the public to see one true side of Mel Gibson

As I said before, if they took a video recording, audio tape, and the Deputy was willing to testify, not to mention it being in an official record of the P.D. and all of the witnesses that supposedly saw the whole thing, then I don't believe it on the undocumented claim of a single web site, no.

If I believed that, I would believe all sorts of things. Hell, there's more documentation on the moon landing being faked.

THe apology doesn't mention anything anti-semitic in it.

And I hope those of you who somehow confuse not believing anything I read on the internet with being an anti-semite are a lot more polite to people in person...

Bill Clinton committed adultery and lied under oath as a sitting President, and only admitted to it after he knew he couldn't get away with it. Teddy Kennedy is a famous drunkard and killed his girlfriend while driving drunk, and he's been a U.S. Senator for decades. What Mel did is wholly dispicable. No doubt about it. But his positive contributions to society and culture, past and future, shouldn't be written off completely after this. He immediately issued a public apology, seemingly sincere, and forgiveness (after justice has been served) should at least be considered if this really was a fluke and not a representation of his actual character. Time will tell, but let's not crucify the man.

What I have heard fits perfectly into my pre-existing world view and further validates my own importance as well as proving what a bunch of bastards everyone else must be.

All this cannot help but impact my pattern of watching other bad movies made by this guy and will seriously alter his future prospects in the movie industry.

Personal attacks are usually a sign of a weak argument or no argument. Everybody wants to label him a Jew-hater or they want to explain away his silly nonsense due to being a struggling addict. Why have I not heard anybody address the thing that he said about Jews being responsible for all of the wars in the world. What do you think would make him say such a thing? I mean 'all of the wars'? Are they responsible for some? which ones? If he is worth $850 million maybe he understands how world economics work better than most and there might actually be a factual basis for the things that he said. I don't know because no one will tell me. Why hasn't anybody in the media reassured me by addressing the reasoning behind his statements so that we can see that what he said was just imaginary and not the most interesting thing that I ever heard. I found it curious to say the least.
