KATHY GRIFFIN'S EX HUSBAND RESPONDS...
"Since our divorce, I have not made any public comments about my ex-wife or our marriage. It saddens me that she would choose to make such accusations at this time. I have no intention of engaging in a public debate over private matters." - Matt Moline, Kathy Griffin's ex-husband's statement to Larry King.
The pre-emted Larry King Live episode with guest Kathy Griffin finally aired tonight. Just to refresh your memory, there had been news reports that Kathy told Larry her reason for divorcing her husband Matt Moline was because he allegedly stole $72,000 from her. During the interview tonight, she said that Matt would sneak into her wallet early in the morning and take her ATM card, withdrawing a total of $72,000 in one year. Kathy claims she has no idea what he used the money for. Maybe that poor whipping-boy probably just wanted to get himself a nice sandwich and quiet hooker who wouldn't yap about reality tv in the middle of sex. Oh Clay! Oh Clay! Kathy added that when she confronted Matt about the money, he allegedly admitting to taking it. Larry King was kind of like, "Kathy, $72,000 isn't that much money to take in one year..." insinuating it shouldn't be something to end her marriage. But Kathy said she worked really hard for all the money that she has earned and did try to make the relationship work after the "discovery." Unfortunately, her trust issues with Matt were too deep and they could not be healed. Lastly, she revealed that their divorce became final in May and she has not spoken to or seen Matt in 2 1/2 months.

What? $72,000 not a lot to TAKE in one year?! Hell, that is what I made last year... gross! That Larry King comment really pisses me off.
I thought when you get married you share everything? Kathy is like obsessed with Aiken. Damn, she talk about him all the time. I can't believe she is banned from all those talk shows...ok, well, maybe I can.
As far as I am concerned, that guy deserved every penny of that 72 grand and much more! Can't imagined being married to that woman.
cit: I am sooo sorry, I clicked the wrong button while attempting to publish your comment and lost the sucker. Could you please re-do it? I am so sorry!!

People end marriages because they woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I'm guessing it was because he snuck the money rather then saying he was taking it that bothered her. Besides, why did he need to take her money when supposedly had his own job? Wasn't living in a mansion with all the perks enough? I was a cmoputer guy. Pretty nice digs for a computer guy, unless you're Bill Gates.
All that being said, I never thought they made a very good couple. He was kinda like her little puppy.
72K? not a lot?? wtf??
When you are married it's COMMUNITY PROPERTY so he was NOT stealing! She is a phuking selfish bitch and will realize how lucky she was to have a man to put up with her ugly-cosmetic-surgery-children-hating-loud-mouthed ass. AND I agree with LK, as much $$$ as KG makes this is NOT over 72k. AND if she was so concerned about her money, she would have noticed the first $1500/week gone. I imagine her firecrotch smells very foul.
She's annoying and not even remotely funny. And someone needs to tell her that her plastic surgeon sucks...she's still a total dog.
This is all so sad to me. $72,000 is alot to me and you but it hollywood its not, her assistant probably makes more than that! I feel decieved because they acted like they were "together" this last season on her show and clearly they were not.
Hey, I LIKE her. I think she's a riot. Why? Because she's got the balls to say what nobody else will.
I do, however, think there's more to the story. Just a hunch but there was some content in her stand-up about her husband always playing fantasy football. Maybe he had a gambling problem. That would certainly be a reason to be stealing cash every morning even tho he was making good money on his own.
Wow! Some very mixed feelings about Kathy. I for one LOVE her!
Everyone (or, nearly everyone) in Hollywood eventually divorces - or so it seems. Big deal. I do feel sorry for them, and really any couple that must live out there personal lives in front of a camera, the media -- the pubic. There have been several stories circulating before last night's Larry King that have alluded to Matt taking money from her. Yeah, maybe for some, $72,000 isn't a lot, for me it would be, but I am not a celebrity. You kind of need to give Larry a break, I don't think he intended to come across crass. And for anyone who has spent time watching her show, be it live on stage, or on air, the woman DOES work hard. So as cited in the last night's show, money was supposedly taken from her personal accounts. So unless you somehow missed that point, the money came from a separate personal account. I for one know many couples that do not necessarily have joint accounts (married or otherwise). I would have assumed he had access to a joint account, and personally he shouldn't be in any other of her other accounts without permission. Whether or not you find her "annoying" has nothing to do with their marriage, or if he deserves anything. What a silly arguement for entitlement! Who exactly are you to judge?
Anything that is MADE during the marriage IS COMMUNITY PROPERTY. Look it up! She is a selfish ugly bitch! I have erased her stupid show from my TIVO as I will never watch her smelly firecrotch again. blech.

... Right! Not sure who is uglier, really. "firecrotch"? Seriously, have you not learned anything from Brandon Davis? Name calling can be so repulsive. You don't need to like her, but to reduce yourself to name calling, it is you I am now sad for. Yes, Community Property, sure, but you don't know their legal situation, etc. Maybe it does seem petty, or selfish -- but I kind of think there is probably more their divorce than money alone. Again, unless you were sleeping under their roof, you really shouldn't be judging. All I have to say is this: Good thing you have a romote, and a choice! Now if we could only do something about your ugly language...
As a lawyer, all these comments from people so forceful in their opinions about community property, don't really understand all the facts. For one, I would be really surprised if she didn't have a pre-nup, which means that potentially none of what she earned is his property. Two, even with no pre-nup, any money or other property she earned/owned prior to marriage and kept separate from him (clearly the separate account works), is considered separate property and he has no right to it. I don't see why this is so wrong for her to feel betrayed that he took money behind her back.
As for the show, why are people so upset that they are together in it? That was clearly taped long before May while they were still together. Where's the sham?

Well said.
i love kathy... i think she is awesome and comes up with such funny stuff... i know i'd be pissed if my husband "snuck" money out of my personal account. if he needed the money, he should have asked her for it. i'm sure she would have given it to him. if he does have a gambling problem, hopefully he will get help for it... and i love her assistant, jessica... she's from louisiana, same as me!!! i work with her uncle and he says she is a doll!!!

SHE CHARGES 40k A NIGHT TO PERFORM
PEANUTS FOR HER
Everyone who says he isnt stealing because it's community property needs to get a grip. He obviously knew what he was doing was wrong because he would SNEAK into her wallet while she was SLEEPING and then replace the cards without her knowing and then never told her about it. Probably the only reason he's not in jail right now is because of community property but in his heart he obviously knew that he was stealing the money and that it wasnt his.
I don't understand why Matt didn't use his own ATM card. Did Kathy have so much control over him that she wouldn't let him have his own ATM card. Puh-leeze!
How much money can you take out a day on an ATM card? If you take out $300 250 times a year, that is a little over $72,000.00. That is every other day. Something is fishy here.
Why not write a couple of checks? Why did he have to "sneak out early in the morning" to use the ATM? This is a bizarre claim by KG.
I think personal assistants make 30K (unless the work for Oprah) if they are lucky, to respond to the comment that "her assistant probably makes more."
Why didn't Kathy notice the first $1,000.00 missing from "her account"? I think it was fairly tasteless for her to cite this as the reason.
How do we know that this wasn't money to use for groceries, gas, the cleaners, flash money, etc.? WTF!
It is clear that she is lying. Remember when she super inflated the amount of money she was Ebayed for. I can't believe I remember that, what does that say about me?!
He probably went to the ATM once, took out $200.00 and forgot to tell her, she found out, and this is the source of her "trust issues."
My guess is he was trying to gather up enough spare cash to help pay for a good weave to cover up that bad case of the mange he's been fighting for years. Whatever became of his business anyway? I used to suspect Matt was screwing Jessica (the lazy-eyed PA). Well, at least next season on "D-list" will prove to be truly interesting, as opposed to this past season.
