WHAT DID YOU THINK OF BRITNEY'S DATELINE INTERVIEW?

Alright people, lets go ... for those of you who actually watched the interview, what did you think of Ms. Britney's interview with Matt Lauer on Dateline? You all know how much I adore my girl Britney, I just wish she would have spit her chewing gum out in a tissue before the interview. Although, I really do think her gum chewing is a nervous habit that she has. The folks at Dateline are another story. They have no excuse after scoring this interview for not having proper lighting and a hair and makeup person to doll Brit up, no excuse. Overall, I was really happy with the interview. Lauer touched on all the important questions the audience wanted asked and Britney seemed pretty damn honest with her answers. I love that she told her side of things, but also said no matter what, she doesn't care what people think ... now that's a girl after my own heart! It was also very interesting at the end how she confirmed she and Madonna do not have a relationship anymore. Whatever Madonna and your Kabbalah! Britney Spears is no longer a young blonde girl doing what she's told!

Plus: I had to throw up this photo TMZ has on their website of Britney, Kevin & Sean Preston playing in the ocean in Miami, FL yesterday. Sean Preston is so damn cute. Go to TMZ to see more photos!

So for Britney it's ok to say she doesn't care what anyone else thinks..
And some other celebrities can't do that..

I'm sorry TW but since you asked, here is what I thought...she confirmed she is no better at talking than she is dressing herself. I cringed everytime she said something I thought sounded trashy so I cringed a lot. I'm from Louisiana too and would love for her to make that place look good but she just makes it look exactly what people already think of it. I hated that deer in the headlights stare and then a stupid answer like "That's America for ya". She did dodge a lot of questions in my opinion. And I totally agree with the gum, nothing looks worse. I am glad she is done with flaky Madonna though. Thats a great sign. And I do think the paparazzi does hound her too much, she does need a break with that.

poor Britt same gum chewing trailer white trash...anyone watching would find it hard to pity this slab of poor "go to hell" attitude woman who thinks that the public shouls ignore her absurd conduct...she who depends on the public to keep her in enough money to afford all of her kinky doings!

I didn't watch it, but I walked through the room while it was on. Does that qualify me to comment?

Poor thing looked like poor white trash. What in god's name was she thinking? I live in Mississippi, trust me...I know PWT! All she lacked was a Marlboro and a plastic tumbler of vodka.

I watched the entire interview and I gotta say, when Britney started crying it seemed that she really wanted some "privacy" and I really don't blame her. Especially being pregnant and to top it off she also has an infant. to be honest I really do care for her, but I do admire that everywhere she is photographed, she has Sean w/her. Not may "hollywood" people do that.

did you ever think that Britney was the one to say no to the make-up people? And no amount of lighting can save her fried hair. Your adoration for Britney seems to cloud your judgment somewhat.

The gum.. the mascara blob..the hair..the outfit. She looked good when she stood up though, great legs. Seated, she looked a hot mess. I loves me my Britney, but I'm still digesting that shit. I honestly felt the whole thing was not necessary. It was all to stick up for her marriage and I don't much care about her marriage. I have always loved that she lives her life and doesn't care what others think..and its good that she's getting stronger..but the thing I have always loved about Brit is her sweetness and her charm, but last night when she made her little scrunched up faces it looked contrived and stupid to me and not sweet and charming. I am seriously almost over Brit, but not really. Believe me, if she can get me to even be this negative, I think she might be in trouble as far as her future career is concerned. Bringing Julia Roberts into it? Bad move. I don't even like Julia, but I just think that was tacky. Since I got the impression with her whole Goldie Hawn obsession that she's planning to focus more on acting than singing, she probably should not piss people in that part of the industry off either. I'm still deciding, but overall I was just kinda left with my mouth hanging open, thinking WTF just happened? I think she shoulda just laid low. She also no doubt has the paparazzi really pissed now. Just overall not a smart move, I don't think. Dateline didn't do her any favors with some of their commentary either, a lot of which was not favorable. That's my take anyway.

I think she did great!!! I stand behind her with everything she does!! She is a great mom!! And what parent hasn't made a mistake from time to time? Just because she is a celebrity, doesn't mean she is supposed to be perfect...

You know, I admire Britney more and more. She wants to raise her kids and she's put up with TONS of ridicule. Sure, K-Fed's a jerk but she goes after guys like that.

Now she's ended her friendship with Madonna and is comfortable enough to talk about it. Brit is stronger than we give her credit for. She's a young mom, making more then her share of mistakes but maybe she had no role model at home.

Glad that Dateline treated her well. She's a survivor, even if she is a millionaire! She takes the hits and keeps on moving forward. No Kate Moss story here.

ITA with the gum and also the lighting / hair / makeup. Pregnancy can wreak havoc on your hair and skin, she def looked pregnant - and chock full of hormones.

I thought she did a good job of telling her side of things, but I think "what people think" has to hurt even if she says she doesn't care.

Smart idea not having Kfed join in. I think people will find Britney on her own more sympathetic and believable, but excuses for his behaviour just wouldn't fly out of his mouth the way they can when coming from Britney.

It was really a little sad, because it confirmed what I had suspected all along.....Britney really is not very bright. It seemed that at times she had problems putting a coherant sentence together. Matt would ask her a question and she would just let words fall out her mouth. I kept thinking -she REALLY needs to stop doing interviews.

It's not Dateline's responsibility to make-up Brit. The celebs have their own hair & make-up people that come to these things. And did Britney fire her publicist? I don't know if this made air, but she called the ER doc (from the dropped Sean incident) a "butch lesbian". Classy.

It's not dateline's responsibilty to do hair make-up, dress her, tell her to spit out her damn gum...she has 'people' for that...or you would think a mirror. Did you ever think that Dateline had makeup and hair and that was the best they could do??????

She's a mess.

Okay, I totally agree with lakesweetjane and want to add to that. Brit is not "country" and seems to be trailor trash in her genes. She didn't grow up in the south, she grew up in LA, on the road and has been exposed to many people, many experiences and tons of money. There is absolutely no reason for her to be so tacky and so trashy. Get a clue people, she's just trailor trash with money. And whatever about her relationship with Madonna, anyone who thinks Brit is better off without her better re-examine the fact that Madonna has staying power.

I have always liked Britney and always will. I'm from southern Louisiana as well and all parents make mistakes. Just because she is a celebrity does not mean that she should be a perfect mother. She is entitled to a few mistakes. The only reason it seems she makes so many, is because the cameras are always on her. I would hate to look back at footage of my children in their younger years.

She could have had an expert help her with her hair and make up though. She had a clump of mascara on her eyes and her skin is horrible.

I watched the entire train wreck that was the Dateline interview and have to agree sockless Matt was distracting. As for BS, she mentioned more than once how she used to just do what everyone told her and now she is her own woman - good on her for that, but perhaps she should sit back and consider that some of the "advice" these "people" were giving her might have been good!!

The poor girl really needs to fire the current or hire herself a stylist!!!

dateline seems to have the goal of making their subjects have a bad image. i don't think they had any intention of telling britney about how bad her outfit looked on camera. and then the sound quality just made the interview seem so amateur. did anyone else hear that buzzing through out? they couldnt have fixed that??

lakesweetjane you said it all really well.

You know something is up. Where is her mother to advise her, if they are so "country"... or is it worse, is all that we see the results of some kind of advice from her mother? I mean: to chew gum on national tv, be completely ignorant in this day and age when we all know she has the money and possibilities to have whatever she wants, including an education, and then to tell people the reason to make a children's clothing line is just because "I like money?" (and the list is so long, but dont forget giving the finger on the website, her..er..driving habits, anything with the kid involved or K-fag)

The best joke is her plea for privacy after inflicting that stupid reality show on UPN.

Whatever fans are holding onto, its clear when you compare her to the rest of the pack she was with, Justin, Christina etc... She was the no-talent that solely used teenage-girl sex ploys and got as far as she could in packaging and breathing heavy in over-produced vocal assisted songs, and now is already empty, nothing but a crash underway in slow motion. No paparazzi is going to turn back at this point, they are going to document the whole thing. Because in the end, that is what the fans ALSO want, but they will never admit it.

Okay since I didn't watch, thanks everyone for the reviews. I wish Britney would take some online classes, art, history, anything... get a little polish or education. The gum chewing sounds sloppy but all the short answers and lack of intelligence... ugh.

i realize she's 25 but she's also pregnant and a mother so i feel that the boobs popping out and the skirt cut up to her coochie were inappropriate.

He false eyelashes and bad makeup and hair...come on now. If you are going on national TV to clear up rumors about your image, portray yourself in the image you want people to come away with. I think this interview confirmed that the tabloids are probably correct.

And to be honest, i didn't beleive anything she said. She was not in any way convincing. I was sad to hear that she wasn't crying in that photo because her son almost fell out of her arms. She was crying because someone wanted to take her picture!!!????

That girl is a mess, no matter what she says, and i'm telling you, this is not the end of this f'd up fairy tale...

I tivo'd it and watched the whole thing. First that hair needs to be darkened, it is the worst color of yellow in the world. She needs to go back to that honey blonde color with some low-lights.

Also, that frikk'n make-up was so harsh and ridiculous. She needs to soften her look up instead of looking like a streetwalker.... speaking of which, she needs to get some decent clothing. Holy Crap did she look horrible!

I was curious to know if she has been baking herself in the sun, in a tanning bed or fake bake. She is way to frikk'n tan and it looks horrible especially with that bleached out, fried, straw-like hair.

She didn't want anyone to see her house b/c she didn't want them (us) to know where she lives???? Well, she lives next to Mel Gibson and EVERYONE frikk'n knows that. I was curious as to what the fuck she was hidiing in that house that she did not want the world to see.

I thought it was very odd that she could not state WHY she loves Kevin. Sounded very bizarre and I did not believe a frikk'n word about how good she says her marriage is, she looked very sad and depressed. I think she realizes what a shithole she has made of her life and does not know what to do b/c she doesn't have a frikk'n education!

I wanted to smack her for chomping on that damn gum throughout the interview and doing her stupid "quotes" with her fingers. She made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

That baby is the cutest damn baby with such a sweet face. I could not understand why she would not say, he is sweet, funny, playful, good natured, etc. Weird.

I think she needs to hire a maid, stylist, 2 nannies, go to college and get a degree, and figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. She needs to better herself so her kids will not be completely humiliated by having such a dumb twat for a mother.

I think if Britney really truly wants to escape the paparazzi, she should move out of LA! Go to a small town somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Move back to Louisiana. Move to Idaho. Leave CA! Of course she's going to be pestered she's in the most popular city in Southern CA!

Oh, her hair...poor thing.

And I hate HATED Matt Lauers loafers and no socks with his waist high Lee jeans.

How funny, somebody called while I was watching and my response was the exact same, "she's chewing gum and Matt Lauer's not wearing any socks!"

But she's only 25, and somehow all of it is kind of endearing.

Matt, on the other hand, has no excuse. If I was doing PR for Gold Toe I'd send a carton of socks to NBC HQ.

People keep bringing up how young she is...well she's not too young to be a mother with another on the way. She needs to grow the f*ck up and get a clue. I have no sympathy for her. Every other mom in the world has read books and sought advice. What? Cuz she has money she thinks she has a clue?

Ok Lisa, I'm with you...

Obviously the girl is a big ol' mess, but you can't help feeling for her as a woman and a mom. Gee, I can't imagine raising my first child under a microscope with everyone analyzing my every move.

As for her obvious lack of etiquette....ya know, she is who she is. At least you can never say she is trying to be someone she's not. She's always stayed true to herself, which is a lot more than you can say about most of these girls in Hollywood.

So, her hair was truly a mess, her make up looked like my 3 year old did it and her outfit look like something a 14 year old would wear. All poor choices, I guess. But what would everyone be saying if she did did that interview looking like a princess all proper and perfect? Makes you wonder, huh?

She doesn't annoy me. But definitely, it would be great to see her get into some books or grooming, a little education is needed. The outfit was awful. Especially since she wants to be taken seriously (or at least, left alone). The bra and balloons will keep the papps crazy for awhile.

Right under it was follow-ups with the pedophiles who showed up believing some 13YO wanted to have sex with them.

I wish people would stop making excuses for Britney. Are we supposed to feel sorry for her that the paparazzi is following her 24/7? Hello people, she's in L.A., the paparazzi capital of the USA! And she's worth 10 MILLION!! There's absolutely no excuse for her to complain while there are many celebs who barely do publicity stunts, and who've never aired videotapes of their private lives for the whole world to see, who get just as much if not more attention than Britney does. With those 10 mil, she could move out of L.A. and move to someplace quieter like other celebs do. And why feel sorry for her when Britney doesn't do anything about her situation? She wants the paparazzi to leave her alone, but still walks about to Starbucks or whatever where cameras are obviously taking pics of her. She wants people to take her seriously, but uses the whole "I'm country!" excuse while looking like trailor trash chomping on chewing gum. First of all, she's not "in the country," and as crazy as us country folks can be sometimes, there's no reason for her to blame her country upbringing for her actions. She wants people to believe that she's a good mother, but blames the paparazzi for her mistakes, never takes the blame for HER actions, uses the "we're country" excuses for the car seat incident (can't she make up her mind? Was it the paparazzi, or her country upbringing?), and chuckles "we all make mistakes," and "that's America for you (ok, now it's America's fault?) to sum up everything. She wants to clear up the rumors about her marriage, but can't make a coherent or believable sentence about why she loves her husband, and says that her marriage is "awesome" with a sad look on her face. I mean lets get real people, this woman needs NO sympathy whatswhoever. She's not the only celebrity in the world that goes through the paparazzi madness. Most celebrities do something about it, for their sake and for their children. So what's her excuse? With all that money, what reason does she have to use the "i'm a country hillbilly" image? Really people, stop making excuses and realize that this woman is a spoiled, money greedy millionare who LOVES the attention, and is trying to get your sympahty for the sake of attention. If she truly cares about her privacy, she would do something about it, grow up and be responsible for her mistakes instead of blaming everybody else, move someplace, and stop talking in interviews. Her lack of intelligence is just so cringing...what's worse is some people blindly thinking that a 10 million celeb who has all the power in the world to change her life deserves sympathy and respect...

I don't think B's net worth is a "mere" $10 million. The perfume alone earned her $100 million.

There is a LOT of money to be made from young girls acting like they are sexually available to old pervs.

But who is really paying the price?
