THE O.C.: MARISSA'S DEAD AND I'M GLAD!

First off, let me make it clear, I have nothing against Mischa Barton who played Marissa, this is speaking strictly about the character she played on The O.C. It came as no surprise to fans of the show that Marissa was killed off on the season finale last night. There were rumors all over the place that Mischa Barton wanted to leave the show, not to mention, she confirmed her character's demise in a last minute television interview. I had read Marissa was going to die of a drug overdose, but I'm much happier with the way the show chose to have her kick the bucket. Even though this season I have been soooo sick and tired of Marissa with her stupid decisions, her boozing it up and snorting coke, the scene with Ryan carrying her out of the burning car had my eyes glued to the television set and yes, even a little misty. I love that Ryan. Anyway, this is the first season of the O.C. that I have been really bored with (yes, Marissa being a dumbass had a lot to do with it), so I hope Marissa's death will bring some improvement to what's left of the show next season. More Ryan, More Seth and Summer and please, ease Marissa's sister Kaitlin (who strangely has the same annoying way of speaking as Mischa Barton) in very, very, slowly.

Hey. Hazim here...again. I think Mischa just wants 2 get the OC over with. I don't blame her. I got lost early in the 2nd season. Too cheesy. Too overdramatic.

Amen, TW! Marissa was my least favorite character too. If any of them had to go, I'm glad it was her.
I am actually quite disappointed that they killed Marissa off. Personally i think this whole season blew. The only good episodes were near the end. Killing marissa was one of the worst mistakes they could have made. Why not just give her a raise or something? You can't have The OC without her. As stupid as that may sound, its true. Its like Shakespeare killing off Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and leaving romeo there, and trying to continue the story. It just wont work. Personally I believe that The OC is done. Its just going to get crappier and crappier. Even the devoted fans will stop watching.
Another thing that i dont get is, why make up that whole story about her going away with her father and THEN kill her? Why not just kill her and get it over with. Maybe they will like bring her back to life in season 3 and she will go with her father then? At least I hope, cause then she won't actually be dead.
Arg, I an just so frustrated. I have watched this show since the VERY begining. Like first episode, never missed another after that. Now im just angry that one of the major characters is gone. She pissed me off at times, but thats no reason for her to die. And another thing (ahahha i know im just going on, sorry) why the heck wasnt Ryan injured at all??? Like he has a small scratch on his face, and marissa dies! that doesnt make sense. Plus if anyone else noticed, HIS side of the car was smashed in not hers. Hence that doesnt make sense.

I'm wondering how the next season will be with a Ryan and Seth on a different school. I always liked the quotes of Seth.

The O.C is awsome! i have watched it since the VERY 1st eposide and been totally gripped ever since! it is defenonatly the BEST show on tv n am totally upset now that marissa has been killed off! it just wouldn't be the same without her but im still going to be a very loyal fan and watch every eposide! which has not been crap! its been very eventful and i love to know whats goin to happen next! but such a bad mistake killing off marissa :(
Actually I agree with you about Marissa. I stopped watching the OC during the second season because I was so tired of her. Then I would catch a glimpse of a few other shows. She's become sucha slut on the show. How did she turn from a sweet and innocent girl to some trashy little ***. I know everyone's got problems, but she in particular is the queen of drama queens. I love Ryan and she just keeps hurting him and taking him for granted. I think she got what she deserves. Glad she's dead. I might consider watching the OC again now that she's gone.
I found marissa intensely annoying, but I fail to see how the show can go on without her...it would be nice to be pleasantly surprised but I don't see it.

im sorry to tell you that no matter what you say.. mariss WAS the oc.. she is the one that links everything.. without her we wouldnt have had brilliant story lines lk.. alex and marissas relationship.. treys shooting.. or jonnys crush on her.. she is one of the most fantastic charachters.. and she is who i can relate too !... wenever i think things in my life are crap.. i just think about how bad hers is !! the show will be nothing now.. rip for ever :'( .. xxxxx

i personally don't think the show will do well without marissa. she was one of the best characters and i have heard several people say they simply are not going to watch it anymore..oh well

To be honest all of you guys and girls are right. Why the hec did they kill her off, there is no oc without her but then there is no oc without any of them. But it does say in mags taht she wanted to leave so put it this way, she is leaving for a good purpose so u can watch he rin other movies.But i thought all the episodes were good even if tehy were crap because i was still glad that the program was on.

Seriously on the O.C i loved seeing Marissa and Ryan together...they looked SOOO cute together...When i watched the episode that she died, i was shocked and i was filled with tears. It was soo dramatic and Misha played very good. Anwyays next season wunt be the same without her.there's going to be so much tragedy. I wonder how Ryan will feel. I love Misha and i love the O.C AND the show wunt be the same without her!
im a BIG fan of the oc and i think marissa kept the show interesting and kept ryan on his feet and know that marissa is dead the creator of the oc Josh Schwartz is CHANGING THE SHOW!! and he is going to lose all the show fans and if you thing of it 4 million people whats the oc 3 million people signed a protest and half of the said they wernt going to witch the oc ever again so know josh schwartz is ruined
I loved Marissa, I think she MADE the show, along with Ryan, Seth, Summer and Taylor has come a long way. I like Kaitlin, she reminds me of Marissa - I wish they hadn't killed her off. It was so sad, I loved Ryan carrying her out. I wanted to FUCKING KILL VOLCHOK when he did that - he is such a dickhead. I agree, the 1st season was the best, but the last 4ish episodes of this season were pretty good in my opinion. Such a mistake killing off Marissa - I agree with the whole Romeo/Juliet thing.
I really wish Marissa didnt die, even though she went through lots of rough times, it was good because it showed people that if they are going through a hard time, there are other people out there like it. I loved Marissa and wish she hadn't died, it suz totally!!! Does any1 know why Mischa left?
i think that the o.c did the right thing to cut off Marissa. i hated her guts (nothing presonl) but i also think that she is very pretty.
but i heared that she wanted to leave the show any way so it was a good step to take
Marissa was one of the best characters. She made the show full of drama which is what everyone likes about it. Its gonna suck now without her and having kaitlin in it.

Not a Big fan but just saw it. Too tell the guys the truth. Lets think about all the characters that have died in the OC. Johnny, Caleb Nickel, and now Marisa, and I know Im forgeting someone. A little to much. It is like killing off Juliet half way through the play. I hope Ryan hooks up with that one hottie. But hey it makes the OC seem more like real life. Things dont always go as planned, right?

omg marissa was the best i loved her n ryan together now she is gone it ant the same seems darker i DONT LIKE IT! they shoud come up with some way of bringing her bk or give up n end it it just ant working without her! the hole thing is just to deep now makes me to sad to watch BRING HER BACK!
