FX GOES BLACK. WHITE.

So I'm crazy excited for this new show starting Wednesday night on FX Networks 10/9c called Black. White. Developed by award winning Producer R.J. Cutler and Actor/Musician/Producer Ice T, Black. White. is a six-part documentary that takes an African-American family, the Sparks, and Caucasian family, the Wurgels and switches their races. Keith VanderLaan (The Passion of the Christ) did the crazy makeup jobs on the families that took 3-5 hours every day transforming them from black to white and white to black. Then the social experiment begins when the families go out into the world and experience the differences in the way they are treated because of their race. The families also shared a home together in Tarzana, CA for the six week duration of the experiment. Ice-T said, "I'm really excited to be a part of a show that explores race in America. Black. White. will force people to challenge themselves and really examine where we stand in terms of race in this country." Tune in, cuz I have a feeling this is going to be some interesting, let alone eye opening stuff.

More new good stuff happening on TV this week:
  • The Unit (New show that stars 24's beloved deceased President Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) and hunka hunka Scott Foley "Felicity") - Tuesday 9/8c CBS
  • MTV's 8th & Ocean premiers! (a cross between Laguna Beach and America's Next Top Model)- Tuesday 10:30/9:30c
  • America's Next Top Model Cycle 6! I can't wait to see the new bitches! - Wednesday 8/9c UPN
  • ER- Ok, the show is not new, but Kerry Weaver might finally lose the cane! - Thursday 9:59/8:59c NBC

I dunno, hard to believe unless they used some great prosthetics that people wouldn't see the massive amounts of makeup it would take to transform these folk. It seems sorta lame to me, kinda like Tyra in a fat suit thinking she understands what its like to be fat. I'm gonna tune in though, see if they can change my mind.

I think it's interesting, but I agree that it's hard to not be skeptical about the transformation...
