TRENT, IS THAT YOU??!

This past weekend if you turned on your television you probably caught one of the several telethons put together to help raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina and it's aftermath. One that really stood out among the crowd was Saturday night's "React Now: Music & Relief," which aired commercial-free on MTV, VH1, CMT and all of MTV Networks' channels, as well as several ones overseas. More than 50 of the biggest musical acts including John Mayer (showing off his new long hair), Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails (with fab short short hair and in a suit! yaow!), Fiona Apple (out of hiding), GreenDay, Dave Mathhews Band, Kanye West and Rob Thomas (just to name a few) took part in the 4 hour telecast. If you missed any of it, you can catch it on MTV.com's Overdrive.

Sony music is offering downloads of the performances for only .99 cents per song (what a bargain!) at their Connect Music store. Aside from being able to own these incredible live performances, what is great about this is that ALL THE PROCEEDS from download sales will be donated to The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and America's Second Harvest. So, c'mon people! Start downloading, make a great mix cd and help people while your at it. You can't beat that.
