JON STEWART TO HOST OSCARS.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced today that "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart will host the 2006 Oscars. Last year's host Chris Rock was not asked back after reportedly offending and alienating some academy members with his jokes targeting the top actors in Hollywood (hee hee). Hey, I liked Chris Rock, but whatever, Stewart is cool too. He is thrilled to be given the job as the host for the Academy Awards saying, "As a performer, I'm truly honored to be hosting the show," then joked: "Although, as an avid watcher of the Oscars, I can't help but be a little disappointed with the choice. It appears to be another sad attempt to smoke out Billy Crystal." Cool.
